About Mike

I am the proud son of a dedicated Air Force veteran who served our country for 42 years. My father taught me the values of duty, responsibility, and integrity. My mother, an immigrant from the Netherlands, instilled in me the power of perseverance and grit. She waited 29 years to become a U.S. citizen, and her journey taught me the importance of never giving up, no matter how long the path may be.

Why I am running for MNGOP Chair

This campaign is not just about me—it’s about us. It’s about building a Republican Party that inspires voters, candidates, and wins elections. I am not asking for blind trust. I am asking for the opportunity to earn it.

Together, we can create a Republican Party that doesn’t just compete—it leads and governs. We can break free from the limitations of the past and embrace a future defined by innovation, transformation, and victory.

A New Era of Unity and Accountability

The Minnesota Republican Party cannot afford to stay divided. The infighting, miscommunication, and lack of trust have held us back for too long. As Chair, I will make sure every voice is heard, every member has a role, and we are all working together toward the same goal—winning elections and delivering results for Minnesotans.

Our processes for endorsements and delegate selection will be clear, fair, and transparent. Everyone will know how decisions are made, and those decisions will be above board. No more confusion, no more behind-the-scenes deals. A party that operates with integrity earns the trust of its members and the voters.

We may not always agree, but we can’t let disagreements divide us. We all share the same mission: electing Republicans to office. It’s time to put the past behind us, focus on our shared goals, and work together. As Chair, I will lead by example, standing behind our endorsed candidates and ensuring the party operates as a team.

Supporting Our BPOUs: A Bottom-Up Approach to Success

The strength of the Minnesota Republican Party lies in its Basic Political Operating Units (BPOUs). They are the backbone of our organization, driving local engagement, candidate recruitment, and grassroots operations. As Chair, my priority will be to ensure every BPOU has the tools, resources, and support necessary to thrive. This party will lead from the bottom up, not the top down. To help BPOUs recruit and support strong Republican candidates, we will provide comprehensive training programs, easy-to-use toolkits, and access to data-driven strategies for outreach and voter engagement. Additionally, I will work to modernize BPOU websites and social media accounts, ensuring every unit has a strong digital presence to amplify their efforts.

Disrupting Fundraising with Vision and Discipline

Fundraising isn’t just about dollars—it’s about trust. Donors, big and small, need to know their contributions are part of a strategic, disciplined plan to achieve victories. As your Chair, I will demonstrate that the Minnesota Republican Party has a vision, the leadership to execute it, and the accountability to earn their trust. This means showing we are well-organized, trustworthy, and laser-focused on success. After all, we are a business, and our business is winning elections.

Under my leadership, the Minnesota Republican Party will never go into debt. Fiscal responsibility is not optional—it is foundational to earning donor confidence and ensuring the long-term viability of our party. Every dollar raised will be spent wisely and transparently, focused entirely on building the infrastructure needed to win elections and expand our influence across the state.

To fund our mission, I will leave no stone unturned. I will travel anywhere, ask anyone, and use every tool—from social media to newsletters—to ensure we are raising the resources needed to compete and win. Fundraising must be bold and proactive, using every opportunity to engage donors. When the other side makes controversial statements or policy missteps, we won’t sit back—we’ll go on the offensive. Just as Democrats leverage such moments to energize their base, we’ll do the same, tapping into national support when the opportunity arises. Moreover, I will work directly with national organizations and partners to change the narrative about Minnesota. Our state is not a lost cause—it is a battleground worth fighting for. By showing we have a plan, a vision, and the leadership to execute, I will make the case that investing in Minnesota is critical to the success of the Republican Party nationwide.

Building the Largest Grassroots Operation in State History

We will revolutionize how we organize and mobilize. By leveraging our volunteers, grassroots organizations, BPOUs, and national partners, we will create the largest voter registration, candidate recruitment, and volunteer operation Minnesota has ever seen. This isn’t about incremental growth; it’s about a transformative surge that reaches every community, every voter, and every corner of our state.

We will switch from defense to offense. We cannot wait until election years to engage and motivate voters. From the suburbs to Greater Minnesota, from Congressional Districts 2, 3, 4, and 5 to rural strongholds, we will maintain a constant presence. In Congressional Districts like 1, 6, 7, and 8, we will build on 2024 victories to strengthen our base and work to reclaim areas like Duluth and Rochester. When I ran for governor in 2022, I earned the support of Hmong, East African, Hispanic, and Somali communities. As Chair, I will deepen these connections and expand our reach, registering voters, and ensure that our message and brand resonates with every Minnesotan.

Innovating Through Technology and Communication

The future of campaigning lies in innovation. We will modernize our digital infrastructure with cutting-edge tools, updated websites, and a statewide events calendar that connects every BPOU and volunteer. We will also expand our reach on social media by growing our followers through long form video podcasts, interactive posts, call to action messaging, etc. Through a new secure portal on our MNGOP website what I am calling “MNGOP Connect”, we will create a digital hub for sharing ideas, best practices, training resources, and real-time collaboration. Our campaigns, BPOUS, and volunteers will not only be well-organized—they will be smarter, faster, and more effective than ever before.

Turning Local Races into Statewide Momentum

Real change starts at the local level. In 2025, we need to focus on winning critical races like school boards, city councils, and other local offices. These races aren’t just small stepping stones—they are the foundation of our party’s long-term success. Strong local leadership creates a ripple effect, shaping communities and building the trust and credibility that carry over into larger elections.

By investing in these local contests, we are not only improving our communities but also preparing for bigger victories in 2026 and beyond. Local leaders become future state and national leaders. Winning these races creates a pipeline of strong Republican candidates who understand their communities and can connect with voters at every level.

As Chair, I will ensure our party provides the support, resources, and guidance needed for these candidates to succeed. From campaign training to voter outreach strategies, we’ll equip them with everything they need to win. These efforts will build momentum that leads directly to success in statewide races, including the Governor’s Office, U.S. Senate, and state legislature.

This ground-up approach isn’t just about winning elections—it’s about strengthening our party from the bottom to the top.
